A history of caring

Since 1989 the WCH Foundation has played a vital role in improving the Women's & Children's Hospital thanks to the loyalty and support of thousands of generous people in our community. The results of our partnerships include:

• Redeveloping the Paediatric Emergency Department, which treats and cares for over 39,000 sick and injured children each year

• Renovating the Paediatric Outpatients Department, which saw 230,000 occasions of service last year

• Upgrading the Audiology Department with state-of-the-art equipment

• Brightening the Hospital with a Christmas Stocking of toys, books, games and items to make a hospital stay less stressful

• Establishing the Endoscopic Theatre Suite, the only one of it’s kind in the Asia pacific region, which will allow the WCH to develop new methods to manage childhood cancer

• Refurbishing the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and the High Dependency Unit, ensuring critically ill children have access to the best equipment and facilities

• The purchase of fifteen vital incubators for the Department of Neonatal Medicine
