Merry Christmas from our CEO
This year has been another busy year for our Foundation and we are proud to celebrate our partnership with your Women’s and Children’s Hospital as they commemorate 140 years of caring for families.
Our biggest project for this year and next is progressing quickly, with construction of our Beach House in Victor Harbor well underway. Our focus is now on making the Beach House a home for all the families who will stay there.
Our current Christmas Campaigns provide a number of opportunities for the community to help with the project as we countdown to official opening the home mid next year. I encourage you to take a look and ‘Give a Gift’ to someone you love this Christmas that will benefit hospital families for years to come. Community support for this will make the Beach House a sanctuary for hospital families who have children with life-limiting illnesses.
Every year, with the support of our friends, the Foundation raises approximately $3 million for the hospital, which equates to $1.5 million annually towards research and a further $1.5 million per year for equipment and projects to improve the hospital environment (for things such as facility upgrades and our Arts in Health program).
We recently finished a grant round with the various units and wards across your hospital on how they can utilise the designated funding we have received this year from our generous donors. I look forward to updating you on the impact you are making across the entire hospital community with your gifts.
I would like to thank all of our partners and supporters for their contributions to our fundraising efforts so far. Your contribution makes a real difference to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital community and the lives of families. Without you, this difference would not be possible.
Our office will be closed for the Christmas Holiday period from 1pm on Friday, 21 December 2018, reopening on Wednesday, 2 January 2019.
From all the staff and directors at the Women’s & Children’s Hospital Foundation I would like to wish you a safe and happy Christmas. We look forward to continuing to work with our donors, supporters and the hospital community in the New Year.
