Every child deserves the chance to simply be a child
Make an in-kind toy donation to bring joy, comfort, and moments of childhood to children in hospital. Every gift is carefully managed by our team on behalf of the Women’s and Children’s Health Network to ensure it reaches where it’s needed most.

The difference you make
No family should face childhood illness alone. When even the best medicine isn’t enough, every family deserves care, connection, and compassion.
When you donate a toy you help make that possible. You can bring comfort and joy at important moments – birthdays, milestones, Christmas, or on difficult days – helping lift the spirits of children and their families when they need it.
To ensure patient safety and maximise impact, we ask that you please follow a few important guidelines when donating gifts.
View our Toy Donation Gift GuideIf you are an individual or donating on behalf of a school, community group or business, we are grateful for your generosity. Through thoughtful, visible and high impact in-kind contributions, you can help enhance the experience for patients and families during their hospital journey.

Yes! Toys for babies aged 0–2 years are often in short supply, so donations for this age group are always gratefully received.
Unfortunately, no. The hospital is currently unable to accept knitted items, including beanies, clothing, and comfort teddies, due to a large overstock.
To keep everyone safe
To keep our children safe and comply with hospital policies, there are some items we unfortunately cannot accept, including:
- Second-hand toys and anything not recently purchased
- Items containing button batteries
- Political, controversial or religious items
- Toys that depict violence or weapons (for example: toy guns, Nerf guns, swords)
- Items with sharp edges
- Choking hazards
- Wooden toys
- Food items (including baby formula), toxic items, latex or scented items
- Knitted blankets.
For the safety and privacy of patients and families, members of the public cannot deliver gifts directly to children in hospital. All donations are received by the Women’s & Children’s Hospital Foundation and distributed in partnership with the Women’s & Children’s Health Network to ensure they reach those who need them most.
Due to safety protocol, all items must be brand new and remain unwrapped to assess suitability. This also helps us ensure your donation gets to the right patient.
