A New Year’s Resolution Worth Making

As this year ends and we look forward to to the year ahead, many of us are contemplating resolutions that will improve our lives in the coming year. A lot of New Year’s resolutions are hard to keep – but making a Will is a resolution you can easily accomplish!

A Will is a legal document that sets out how your assets will be dealt with when you pass away. Writing a Will is the single most important thing you can do to protect the future of your loved ones and ensure your wishes are known.  A little bit of thought now will give you peace of mind and avoid unnecessary conflict later on.

Fortunately, making a Will is easier than ever so what better time than January to contact your solicitor and put your plans in place?

Once you have made provision for your loved ones, you might consider including a gift to charity in your Will – for example to acknowledge an organisation that has assisted you or other family members during your lifetime.

The Women’s and Children’s Hospital was founded on philanthropy and, today, gifts in Wills left to the WCH Foundation play an important role in ensuring that women, children and their families continue to receive the very best care possible.

Gifts in Wills of all sizes make a wonderful difference and you can choose to leave a specific sum of money, a percentage of your estate or the residual of your estate after all other payments and charges have been distributed. We will ensure that your gift is used carefully and with the utmost respect.
