This is Franco, girl dad to Isabelle (pictured in the NICU) and Scarlett. Never saying no to a fun activity whether it`s building, drawing, or dressing up or ballet dancing. Scarlett says he’s the most awesome dad because “he likes to go to the playground with me, and we swing together”
To all the dads, father figures, carers, and mentors shaping young lives every day 💙 Thanks for holding hands, offering comfort, celebrating the little wins… and sneaking in the cheesy dad jokes that make us smile. Your ongoing support doesn`t go unnoticed.
Happy Father’s Day from all of us at WCH Foundation!

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month 💛
Every September, we honour the courage of children facing cancer and the families who walk beside them. One story that continues to inspire is Lucy’s.
Diagnosed with brain cancer at six, she faced every challenge with extraordinary strength. Later, as a teenager, Lucy wrote a children’s book, Take it On, to make sure no child felt alone on their cancer journey.
Though Lucy tragically passed in 2020, her legacy lives on through the Loving Lucy Mae Fund, championed by her mum, Jodie. Through fundraisers and community efforts, they’ve supported projects like Oncology@Home, helping children receive treatment where they feel safest – at home.

Did you know South Australia has one of the highest asthma rates in the world? 🫁
Many asthma-related hospitalisations and deaths are preventable, yet 90% of kids don’t use their inhalers correctly and 70% don’t have an action plan.
This Asthma Week, we’re shining a light on Asthma AI+ 💡
Supported by the WCH Foundation, A/Prof Kristin Carson-Chahhoud and her team of collaborators are developing a new self-management app for asthma. It combines real-time symptom tracking, personalised education, and interactive tools to give children and young people with asthma the best chance to thrive.
The app is currently being tested by 8-25 year olds with an asthma diagnosis under the care of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Together, we’re working hand in hand to equip young people with the tools to take control of their asthma.
