No, these grants are not intended to support research. Information about funding for research can be found here.

We encourage you to apply for a single project at any one time, focusing on those that best aligns with the WCH Foundation’s funding pillars.

Applications are by invitation only, following consideration of your project idea submitted online. The WCH Foundation may contact you for further information before inviting you to submit an applicationNote that not all ideas submitted to the WCH Foundation will be invited to submit an application

Funds will be available upon signing of a grant commitment form by the WCH Foundation and WCHN SELT. This may take a few weeks to occur following confirmation of a successful application.

We are looking to fund impactful projects that align with our funding priorities to:

  • Improve the patient and/or family experience of healthcare
  • Improve patient outcomes through enhanced clinical care
  • Improved equity of healthcare, particularly for marginalised groups
  • Enabling excellence, innovation and leadership in healthcare

Perhaps you would like to offer a new resource, implement an activity, expand part of an existing service, or undertake a creative or innovative project that will support WCHN patients and families. We’re looking for your ideas on how to make the WCHN experience the best it can be, both in the Hospital, and in WCHN services in the community.

Projects requiring recurrent funding for new services will not be considered.

Resourcing for time can only be considered for limited periods of time associated with the initiative or involved in piloting an activity (i.e. – for staff time to initiate an activity, time to upskill other staff members, or time to develop a new resource).

*The WCH Foundation can only consider long-term funding of salaried projects in consultation with the WCHN CEO.

Larger projects or projects requiring multi-year funding  may be considered in consultation with the WCHN SELT only. It is suggested that any ideas of this scale are escalated to  leadership in your division in the first instance.
