Supporters of the Women’s & Children’s Hospital Foundation recently gathered at the Golden Hearts Luncheon for an afternoon of connection, conversation and inspiring insights into the impact of vital research.
The afternoon brought together members of our Golden Hearts community and supporters interested in learning more about the lasting difference a gift in their Will can make. Each guest was united by a shared belief that every child deserves every chance.
Research that brings real hope
Guests heard from Dr Nick Smith and Professor Kim Hemsley about the remarkable advances being made in genetic medicine and rare disease research.
Rare diseases are often complex and hard to diagnose. For many families, the road to answers can be long and uncertain. Both speakers talked openly about these challenges and about the real hope that research is bringing.
That hope takes many forms. Earlier diagnoses mean families can access answers and support sooner. New treatments are emerging for conditions once considered out of reach. A deeper understanding of complex conditions helps guide the best path forward.
Their presentations were a powerful reminder that behind every breakthrough is a child, a family and a future worth fighting for.
To everyone who was able to join us, thank you. Your warmth and connection to the Foundation mean so much to us and to the South Australian families we support. Together, we’re chasing a healthier future with all our might.
