Talent Within: Staff and Volunteer Exhibition

For 10 years, Arts in Health has invited staff and volunteers of the Women’s and Children’s Health Network (WCHN) to exhibit in ‘Talent Within’. Talent Within is our annual art and craft exhibition for the South Australian Living Arts Festival (SALA).

This year due to the unpredictability of COVID-19, the Foundation decided to do things a little different! We invited staff and volunteers to share the creative projects they’d been up to during isolation throughout March to July 2020.

To take part staff and volunteers submitted a photograph of their project. They also shared how it kept them motivated and feeling well.

The response was amazing. Fifty submissions were received from staff and volunteers across different wards and departments – including Hospital School, Paediatric Neurosurgery, Nutrition Department, Infection Prevention and Control, Centre for Education, Play Therapy, and Spiritual Care – as well as a special entry from CEO of the Women’s and Children’s Health Network, Lindsay Gough (pictured above).

All submissions can be viewed via our Talent Within Isolation Virtual Gallery

Their submissions are also on display in the Hospital’s Blue Heart Gallery (Ground Floor, Zone A – near Allied Health and Hospital School) until October 2020.

We hope this exhibition provides the Hospital community with an interesting and relatable insight into our colleagues’ fascinating lives outside the Hospital.

Arts in Health thanks all participants for giving us a peek into your ‘iso time’ and sharing personal stories.
