How to support Hospital families this Christmas
It’s the most wonderful time of year and we know during the holiday season our amazing community love to support families who rely on our Women’s and Children’s Hospital!
To make things easy, we’ve compiled your go-to guide on how to support the Women’s & Children’s Hospital Foundation this Christmas.
Donate to our Christmas Appeal
At the age of 12, Allira has already undergone 12 surgeries and has spent over 800 days in the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
You can help make the ordinary extraordinary for kids like Allira this Christmas by donating to our Christmas appeal.
At just 13 weeks old Allira was diagnosed with a very rare genetic disorder with no cure, requiring ongoing care from the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
This Christmas Allira’s mum, Remiko, has shared the story of how our Laklinyeri Beach House helped them experience the quintessential Australian beach holiday during a time of uncertainty. Watch Allira’s story.
Purchase a present for a patient
The easiest way to donate presents this year is via Simply Giving, an online gift website.
Simply purchase the gifts online and they will be distributed to Hospital patients. Make sure to order early to ensure delivery by Christmas and help us reach our goal of 200 toys!
If you plan to deliver presents, we request that these be delivered to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital loading bay rather than our office.
Please note that the Women’s and Children’s Health Network’s process for gift drop off has changed and you are not able to access the hospital. Gifts must be brand new and delivery pre-arranged during business hours Monday – Friday and before December 15.
They have also put together some wish lists for patients, especially identifying a need for gifts for adolescents who often miss out.

Big W instore tokens
2020 Big W Christmas appeal.
BIG W stores across Australia are raising money for sick kids this Christmas and South Australian stores are supporting the WCH Foundation!
The BIG W ‘For the love of giving’ token campaign is in stores now. You can show your support for the Hospital by purchasing a $2 or $5 token at the checkout next time you visit BIG W between now and 24 December.
Ikea toy drive
Hospital patient enjoying IKEA goodies.
You can give the gift of play to a sick child this December by purchasing a toy or children’s book from IKEA!
Simply pop your purchased item in the toy house located past the checkout lanes in the IKEA Adelaide store and they will be delivered to a patient in the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
Virtual Christmas cards
Send virtual Christmas cards to your friends, family and colleagues this Christmas and 40 cents from every card purchased from Charity Greeting Cards will be donated to the WCH Foundation.
